Special courses

Special courses are face to face courses held in Finland (in Helsinki). Special courses deepen basic knowledge and skills about the lectured subject. Special courses are usually organized once or twice a year (in the spring and in the autumn), but the demand affects the training schedules.

One day course will include a two month GispoHelp support service and a two day course will include a four month GispoHelp support service.

This course is directed to basic users of QGIS who want to master the art of map visualization in QGIS. The course will be held in finnish.

In this one day course the student will learn how to create efficient, informative and visually pleasing maps. In this course the student will learn how to visually plan maps from colour choices to highly variable data.

This course includes the GispoHelp support service for two months!

This course is directed to basic users and to those who use QGIS in their work. This course teaches the student many helpful tricks in quality management and when editing data. The course will be held in finnish.

In this one day course the student will learn i.a. how to check the topology in QGIS and how to use different attribute editing tools. The course suits well to planners but also to those who want to enhance their data quality and fasten their workprocesses.

Are you advanced user of QGIS 2 but QGIS 3 is still a bit fuzzy? In this one day course the student will learn the differences between QGIS 2 and QGIS 3 and how to utilize the new features. The course will be held in finnish.

Have you been working with QGIS and feel like advancing your skills a bit? With PyQGIS you can create Python scripts and plugins for QGIS so that you can optimize your work! This course is directed to basic QGIS users who know the basics of Python. The course will be held in finnish.

In this two day course the student will get a speedy review about Python and how it is used in the field of GIS. The student will learn how to utilize PyQGIS and create QGIS plugins.

This course includes the GispoHelp support service for four months!

Leverage your handling and dissemination of geospatial data on GeoServer with world leading expert.

This course is directed for Geoserver users, application developers and geographic data services administrators. Participants should have basic skills in the Geoserver software and in management of geographic data. The course and the materials will be in English. The course consists of lessons and exercises.The exercises materials can be used after the course also. Each participant has a computer reserved for the courses.

Anrea Aime will be the teacher on this course.

This workshop is directed to those familiar with GIS who want to publish their own or others' map interfaces through a map service. The workshop will be held in finnish.

In this one day workshop the student will learn how to install Oskari and how the basic features of Oskari work.
